Our students won the champion of Hysan Ethnic Minority Youth Social Enterprise Competition
With the outstanding performance of our students ALJOHN (6C) and XYRA(5C), they beat the other 5 finalists and won the champion ofHysan Ethnic Minority Youth Social Enterprise Competition, as well as a subsidy of HK$30, 000 to actualize their plans. They attended the prize presentation ceremony on 24/10. XYRA shared her feelings, ‘Taking part in this scheme has helped me to enrich my experience and learn even more to seek for opportunities. I also understand that the society needs us, as every bit of effort we pay do make a difference in the society.’ This competition is co-organized by the Hysan Development, the Hong Kong Christian Service and the Business School of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Contestants are required to take courses in the HKUST during the summer vacation to learn social enterprise management and drafting proposals, as well as to apply what they have learnt into real contexts. Not only can students expand their horizons, but they can also stretch their potential through this learning experience. We sincerely thank the organizers and will continue promoting cooperation among private enterprise, non-government social institutions and schools, so as to provide students with more fruitful learning experience.
