The Initiation of ‘Healthy Eating and Active Living Promotion Program for Ethnic Minority Children in Hong Kong’

Our school has participated in ‘Healthy Eating and Active Living Promotion Program for Ethnic Minority Children in Hong Kong’, held by the Food Research Center of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. One of the main objectives is to raise the awareness of healthy living for the children of ethnic minorities, encourage them to adopt a healthy lifestyle, as well as to enhance our understanding on the cultures of ethnic minorities. The scheme lasts for a year, starting in February, 2014 and will be concluded in May, 2015. The scheme includes seminars, cooking workshops, visits and experiments, surveys and expos on health and fitness. Our school has recruited 20 student ambassadors. Not only will they participate in various activities, but they will also be actively promoting healthy eating and lifestyle for children of ethnic minorities.
