‘Ode to Joy’ concert — over ten thousand teens broke the world record together

Art is the common language of human being—regardless of countries, race, gender and age.  Facing the specific context of multi-ethnic diversity, we strive our best to promote art, so as to spread the message of mutual respect, acceptance, peace and fraternity. Eventually we aim at constructing a harmonious campus.

On 6/12, the ‘Ode to Joy’ concert was held in the Hong Kong Coliseum, which was jointly organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, Opera Hong Kong and Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK).  During the concert, over ten

thousands of youths sang various masterpieces of Beethoven together, with the performance of the Cantonese version of ‘Ode to Joy’, which gives new elements to the music and even broke the Guinness World Record. We have 14 students participating in this grand concert. Students devoted themselves in daily practice and live performance, which was impressive. Through their hands-on experience, not only are students’ knowledge of music and singing skills enhanced, but also their interest of classical music is nurtured. The student participators are as follows:

Freddierick Tigue(5A1) Jenny Wong (5A1) Rheanne Winstanley(5B) Lexli Alconaba(5C) Anjelica Avorque(5C)
