Students joining the ‘Hope for Success’ Award Scheme for career planning
Youngsters are keen on pursuing their dreams. One of the major concerns of our education is guiding students to plan for their future paths. Apart from counseling activities organized within our school, we also collaborate with various parties and encourage our students to take part in a variety of activities as well. BIBI AQSA of 4A1 participated in the ‘Hope for Success’ Award Scheme, held by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups. Its aims at nurturing students’ awareness and ability of future career planning, as well as encouraging them to explore their future career prospects through a series of activities (e.g. career seminars, writing contests, career sharing sessions, dream-actualizing activities, etc). Winners will be granted ‘Hope for Success’ subsidy to actualize their dreams. We are sure AQSA will have fruitful experience, regardless of whether she will be short-listed or not. Her reflections are as follows:
My dream is to be a kindergarten teacher for the children of ethnic minorities. I am Pakistani and I seldom see any kindergarten teachers who are ethnic minorities themselves. On the contrary, there are more students of ethnic minorities in Hong Kong. I sincerely hope that I can help them with their English and Chinese language. I was recommended by my class teacher to participate in this activity and I believe that this activity will be helpful for my future career planning.
Participating in the ‘Hope for Success’ program enables me to face more challenges. I also hope to improve my Chinese through this activity. I would like to thank the organizers as well as my teachers for their support.
