Vocational Chinese programmes for Hipwoers in stall now
Imparting the necessary language skills for ones’ employment is a functional objective in Hong Kong. In the past we have seen a growing demand of both parents for implementing tailor-made Chinese curricula that addresses the occupational Chinese competence required for various careers. This year we have partnered with two organizations namely the Hong Kong Jockey Club and Sau Mau Ping District Junior Police Call to launch the Multicultural Teaching Assistant Programme (MTA) and Harmonious Pyramid Project (HPP) respectively to address the needs of preparing personnel for kindergarten education and disciplined forces respectively.
MTA is one crucial component under the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s trust initiated project entitled “Holistic Support for Non-Chinese Speaking Kindergarten Children to learn Chinese”. As the project title speaks for itself, our potential MTAs will play a significant role in this noble cause. This year we have recruited 7 MTAs who will undergo a one year vigorous training to equip them for the necessary academic and practical skills to materialize the project mission. We will recruit a handsome amount in the coming academic year.
HPP is a refined version of Project Gemstone where it is aimed at equipping our aspired Hipwoers with a Chinese literacy competence and schema to enlist them to various disciplinary forces after their completion of their secondary studies. This 3-year project will commence in September and with your blessings, we hope to deliver results in the foreseeable future. Currently, we have recruited 20 students who will undergo Chinese literacy courses and related excursion activities this academic year.Imparting the necessary language skills for ones’ employment is a functional objective in Hong Kong.
