Hipwoer’s showcased their language prowess in two territory-wide competitions

We are blessed with a multi-cultural/lingual environment where students are given ample of opportunities not only to acquire English and Chinese but also showcase their linguistic talents. Recently, our students have proven this point in two different competitions.

Lam Hoi Lai (4D1) penned an award winning Chinese novel entitled “Obedience” in a 5th Territory- wide Mini Chinese Novel Competition organized by Department of Chinese and History of City University. The main aim of the competition was to foster creativity and providing participants with the opportunity to develop their expressive talents and expand their horizons in Chinese novel writing. Together with her, two merit and four commendation awards were bagged by Chen Jiamin (4D1), Zheng Weiming (4D1) and Chen Lihui (4D1), Ying Sze Wan (6D2), Cai Xinni (6D2), Liu Ka Ching (6D2) respectively.

Darsh Vaghani (5D) delivered a speech entitled “If…….” and won the second runner-up of the English Public Speaking Contest 2017 organized by College of International Education of Hong Kong Baptist University. The aim of the contest was to provide students with opportunities to realize their full potential in their communication skills and develop them to speak confidence in public. Darsh was praised for his incredible insights into the issues, confidence and passion that he has demonstrated throughout the different rounds in the competition.
