Becoming a Mr/Ms UNESCO World Heritage know-it-all
Recently, a group of 15 students in S3 and S5 embarked on a 5-day learning journey to Xian and Zhengzhou Historical & Cultural Tour in China. Students were not only able to appreciate and make selfies in various UNESCO World Heritage Sites but also discover the rich and distinctive history and legends behind each sites.
This group of students had the following in their travelling log:
1) Visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Terracotta Army Museum in Xian, to understand the story of the first Emperor of Qin.
2) Stepping on the top of the Xian City Wall, which was used since Tang Dynasty, more than 1000 years ago. Another UNESCO World Heritage Site.
3) Exploring the Mount Hua which is the western mountain of the Five Great Mountains of China, together with a long history of religious significance.
4) Touring in Longmen Grottoes, the finest examples of Chinese Buddhist art, housing tens of thousands of statues of Buddha and his disciples. Another UNESCO World Heritage Site.
5) Walking to Shaolin Monastery and Pagoda Forest, the main temple of the Shaolin school of Buddhism. Lots of mystery and popular culture are about this place. Another UNESCO World Heritage Site.
